Recap: Low Budget FM Visits The SoulGeek Singles Mixer

Marc, Cioffi and Britt loaded up the Solara and made the trek to Van Nuys, where they experienced the majesty of the SoulGeek.com Singles Mixer and Game Night. The gang recounts this bizarre experience. Plus: Marc got a little too high beforehand.

Bonus! Try as they might, Marc, Cioffi and Britt couldn't avoid being captured in many, many photos at the event. You should probably get over to Meetup.com and check those out.

Is that Britt in the photo? She's a tiny little thing!

Mike looks a bit uncomfortable in that photo

Britt looks great when not wearing glasses or trapped inside a Mexican spaceship.

Did the road trip audio get lost, sound awful, or has it become exclusive content for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch?

Just listened to the show and it made me feel very sad. I LIKE geeks! Don't diss the geeks! You date a geek, and they literally worship the ground you walk on, and you can do no wrong in their eyes. And,.. I WOULD LIKE TO PLAY ROCKBAND WITH GAME SONGS! THAT SOUNDS LIKE AN EXCELLENT NIGHT OUT TO ME!

Oh, and I am really enjoying Brit, she needs to talk more often.

To all the women out there, get yourself a geek!

I thank you....

NERRRRD.

Haha Marc you definitely look like you're hopped up on goofballs. Good god those nerds like their energy drinks.

You guys should talk about your weekends more often.

May 11, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterBeth

Talking about our weekend becomes a weird thing, about half of the time it'd be something like "Hey, remember a few hours ago when we setup the barn." or "Man, the barn sure is dusty today." and so on

I took your "free, daily comedy podcast" tagline seriously. I guess I shouldn't have. Going to an event just to bag on the people who show up is not comedy. Neither is linking to pictures of the event to make sure we can all identify the women whose weight you made fun of. I'm sure they're pleased to be ridiculed. I'm new to this show (I heard it mentioned on Fitzdog Radio) and was liking it until this episode. Badly done, guys.

Cubicalgirl, Marc and Cioffi make fun of themselves much more than they do other people. I mean, c'mon Cioffi has a yo-yo and Marc has a weird obsession with Apple products. Both of them are geeks!

As to the picture linkage, I am sure those women know they are fat. I doubt they are going to listen to this podcast one day, look in the mirror and think: "Oh my God, those badly dressed men were right, I'M FAT!".

The nerd community don't care about that stuff, all we care about is getting the latest Kevin Smith comic.

OMG hosted by Crispin Freeman!? Was he actually there? Did you guys meet him?

...I'm not a nerd.

Totally understand where you are coming from, cubicalgirl.

To poke fun at myself a bit -- a little under a year ago We did a show where I was mercilessly ridiculed for buying a costume for Comic Con.

Emma, I'm a nerd, too. So as part of "the nerd community" I do care about bagging on people for stuff like the way they normally look. If one wears a costume to a con, one should expect some ribbing. If one walks out the front door, dressed normally and inhabiting their own skin, they don't. I'm sure the women know they're fat, too; so why point it out, except to make a joke? I'm sure if they were in wheelchairs or otherwise disabled no one would make jokes.

Marc, I appreciate the reply.

You're right, Cubicalgirl. I'm sorry.

Thanks, Emma!

I once worked with a guy who was in a wheelchair. Everybody called him "wheels."

Just sayin'.

New to the show.... And by far this one was the most entertaining.

I have some friends that are "nerds" and they aren't half as bad as what you guys have described, but I know that many are like this. If these nerds don't want to be made fun of, then maybe they should take to time to at least figure out what makes them so easy to laugh at. It's not like they are mentally challenged, they chose to look like total weirdos. Maybe they should figure out that getting laid by any respectable woman requires a bit of effort on their part. Go take a social dating course, get out and talk to folks, etc. Meeting women requires effort, and none of these guys are willing to sacrifice some of their "nerd posturing" to get it, they will be forever be virgins.

Anyways, loved the descriptions. You guys should do MORE social experiments, as this was fascinating to listen to.
