Is that not Marvin from live action BBC H2G2? Marvin the Paranoid Android?

Why are you implying he is a robot?

An android is a subset of robot.

Are you seriously debating this?

The first car intelligence to freak me out was when it started raining and my friend's windshield wipers turned on on their own. I immediately wanted to get far, far away from said car.

Also, something not touched on in the show that I find terrifying: the digital replacements of books. Maybe I've read too much Bradbury, but Nooks and Kindles scare the crap out of me.

I am a lawyer.

A robotic president wouldn't be constitutional under present law. There are two kinds of citizenship recognized by the constitution: citizenship by birth and naturalized citizenship.

Article 2, Section I, Clause 5 limits the presidency to natural born citizens. This is the same clause which prohibits Gov. Schwarzenegger from becoming president because he is a naturalized citizen, not a natural born citizen. A robot cannot be born.

However, Congress has the authority to "establish a uniform Rule of Naturalization", Article I, Section 8, Clause 2, meaning Congress can define who gets to become a naturalized citizen. Nothing prohibits Congress from passing a law allowing robots to apply for and obtain naturalized citizenship.

Some Republicans have advocated a constitutional amendment to allow naturalized citizens to become president. If this passes and Congress allows robotic naturalized citizenship, a robot president would be constitutional.
