Unrelated to this episode, can we get a picture of Romeo the turtle?

Ahh, sadly Romeo is back at school and won't be home 'til summer and I never took a picture. But, let me be honest, he is a very handsome turtle. The kind with the red patches above the eye.

And, well, Romeo could also be a chick turtle, I have a hard time distinguishing between the turtle sexes.

Further to the bonus episode of the second radio show.

I was homeless and living in my Jeep for about 6 to 7 months, from the end of high school, when I was kicked out, through to mid December when got enough for a place. I was working at a museum and as a car lot security guard. Come September I was going to University. I was saving up for first, last, and tuition and books.

I was in a Jeep YJ (Wrangler). The back seat was a joke and was filled with all my crap, and the front seats did not recline. Oh yeah, I was also playing lacrosse and am 6'4".

Luckily for me I was working between 12 and 14 hours a day. I ate dinner at midnight and breakfast at 4am - what ever I could cook in a single pot heated by an oxy-acetylene torch.

I went through ultra heat of summer to snow. I eventually was fired from the car lot, not for using the chemical shower to clean up, but because I did not get shot over a biker stealing a Dodge Stealth.

I finally got enough money for a deposit and moved in with Stabby as my room mate. Not long after I reconnected with my black sheep uncle who started to help me out by stepping in like a father.

Still have the Jeep, still have the apartment (My uncle bought it, I paid rent to him, he later gave it to me when the rent had paid it off) - that is the Spider Hole I used to go to so I could watch the Stickam shows.

Laxdude - Holy Crap! You have been there - done that! I applaud your Uncle. Being the black sheep in my family, I know 'we' are actually the good ones!

Yeah, I have a pretty shitty father. To this day he still says I am gay, and while he is a Republican, he wasa draft dodger that fled to Canada who illegally continues to use the Canadian healh care system and is defauding the Canadian Government now that he is back in the states. Luckily I don't ever have to see him. I felt worse when I found out my childhood cat died then when I heard he had cancer. Stabby I do have to actively avoid thoughn she is putting her law degree to great use ringing up groceries at the upscale Safeway in town.

I probably didn't have to live in my Jeep, I had other relatives I probably could have called on, or friends I could have crashed with - but I was just too pround to ask.
