News Monster: Fending Off Bears, TP Shortage, and Foiled Robberies

In Marc Chamber's absence, a familiar voice is found to help out in close pal John Salwin. Salwin, who leads off with the best gift Cioffi will ever get before they get to the news monster and discuss the art of fending off bears, hygiene, and a serious fiscal issue surfacing in a TP shortage in California.

That was a nice and unexpected surprise

I always wanted to hear Mike and John do a show. Nice job. Good luck getting Marc out of that crater.

Blair County/Duncansville is NOT IN CENTRAL PA! How dare you lump my adoptive home in with the mouth-breathers of western PA. (BTW western PA is where Brit Bickle is from)

To clarify my previous post:

Blair County/Duncansville is considered to be western Pennsylvania or part of the Johnstown/Altoona/Huntingdon metro-statistical area. It is not considered to be part of Central PA, which traditionally encompasses Harrisburg, Lancaster, Gettysburg, York, Carlisle and Lebanon (Possibly Chambersburg and/or State College also).

Whereas Johnstown/Altoona is the definition of rust-belt America, Central PA is growing economically, generally regarded as 'recession-proof', and is a premier vacation destination due to the beauty of the Blue Mountains, Hershey Park/Chocolate World and Gettysburg.

Mr. Cioffi
Helena, Montana.
Pronounced "Hell-in-ah"

Cioffi's lack of geo-cultural knowledge is apparently causing discord across the nation.

Loved the show, still a little cheesed at John though - who doesn't speak enough on the Far Out Podcast.

It would be nice if John could pop in to a couple recording sessions i the future, the three-way talk action really makes for a good vibe - and i like the places that Salwin goes.

(Cross-posting from Carollaboards where I also attacked Craig in PA... with the friendliest of intentions naturally.)

I can't remember the last time Chambers was absent from Low Budget... the 100th episode is the only thing that comes to mind. Salwin's return makes for a real vintage feel to this... and I'm intrigued by the Wednesday announcement. Is Salwin abandoning the Far Out podcast and returning to his roots? (I can't imagine Marc letting him do LBFM while still associated with FOP.) I'd forgotten how awesome the news sounds when filtered through his melodious pipes.

(I just hope Salwin can control his editorial grunts when things take a turn for the scatological...)

Marc has been absent since the 100th show. He had to see a movie about a year ago. Seriously.

Marc recently made a comment about how when he was unavailable, the podcast never happened which could not be said for anyone else. I happen to think this is more control issues and the former guests lacking a certain skill set.

I still hold out hope for a return to the live Stickam shows. They were a pain to schedule around but oh so worth it.

I agree with laxdude on the stickam shows!! oh and now that yall have big ACE moneys, how about making some shirts we can purchase. I'm sure yall don't mind making money off us, the listeners.

Freddy T's impression of Marc sighing into the mic was 100% perfect, he nailed it.

Awesome ep! I'm loving all these podcast crossovers, very reminiscent of early 90's Marvel comics.
