The Rules Of Shotgun

When calling "shotgun," there are rules. And when Roommate Kyle tried to violate those rules, Cioffi had to take matters into his own hands. Plus: community theater, awkward after parties, Cioffi falling down drunk and a trailer for Low Budget FM's movie.

All parties must be outside. The shotgun call must be audible by all parties involved. Vehicle need not be visible.

That's a bummer that blogworld isn't the following weekend. My wife and I are going out to Vegas for her birthday. I'd much rather run my bets through/give my college football losses to Cioffi than the casino.

Is that a young Michael Cioffi?

The way this war was announced was equivalent to Pearl Harbor. WAR ON!!!!!! Prepare for a scorched earth campaign with no survivors on either side.

I'm unsubscribing Daves of thunder until a formal apology is given..... one would say he's a JERK

Goddamitsomuch, Cioffi, that's like the 50th freaking time you've pretended to think Marc was referring to the reality TV character "The Situation" when in fact he wasn't. Don't you think that maybe the "joke" is beginning to wear thin?! You think you're so fucking funny, YOU'RE NOT FUNNY! YOU'RE A FUCKING HACK!!!

Just when I was starting to like you again.

Also, congrats on Stitcher (used it to listen to today's podcast on my commute home)!

While Daves of Thunder shows up on a search of Stitcher, it isn't one of the elite podcasts that show up in the main "Adam Carolla & Other Comedy Podcasters" section on Stitcher...LBFM does! Looks like the "War on DoT" is going well...

How'd you guys manage that one?

The rules are simple:
1. All parties must be outside and able to hear the call.
2. The vehicle in question must be able to hear the call (figuratively, if it were a human that human must be able to hear it.)

The rules are not simple. There's all kinds of gray area. The shotgun claimant must be able to verify a clear sightline to the vehicle. The vehicle's owner must comply with all declarations of shotgun. The excluded party can revert to force with the drivers tacit consent, as it is colloquially know--bigger than thou shotgun. Cioffi clearly knows his shotgun law. It also varies from region to region, and it extremely complex when a potential sex partner is involved--known in some regions as "eternal chaunch shotty." Also, there are no ties in shotgun.

Just out of curiosity, you keep mentioning that you are part of the Carolla network. When I look at Carolla's website, though, you aren't listed along with the other shows (The Parent Experiment, Daves of Thunder, etc). You guys are clearly more entertaining than a lot of the other shows. What gives?

Speaking of declaring war on another podcast, surely Cioffi noticed that Megaboom has "borrowed' the "fake posting on CraigsList" bit.

The fact they did this using LBFM's own equipment just adds insult to the injury.

To Megaboom I say SHAME!!!!

(Note the intentional irony of 'stealing' Dameshek's delivery for this shame business.)
