Marc Chambers
Marc Chambers — scholar, philanthropist, and frequent avoider of eye contact — started his radio career in January 2006 at an FM Talk station in Los Angeles. While he had no previous interest in talk radio, and only a vague interest in radio at all, there was something about the job that he found strangely compelling. It was only a few months later that a young Chambers realized what had drawn him to this industry: the fact that he was able to maintain employment despite frequent tardiness, gross incompetence and a complete ignorance of basic social protocol.
After a brief stint in a smaller Arbitron market, a job offer drew him back to Los Angeles in the summer of 2008. It was then that he developed his intense passion for doing large amounts of work and receiving little to no compensation for it. A frequent mentor of Marc’s referred to this as “radio fever,” a phrase that worked its way into Marc’s vernacular.
Marc currently resides in Toronto with his wife Margaret and their German Shepherd, Tootsie. Follow @marcchambers on Twitter.
