Regular Bits and Segments

Here's just a few of the recurring bits and segments you'll hear, and enjoy immensely, on Low Budget FM.

The News Monster

Salwin reads news stories from around the world, or possibly just from around the United States (depending on whether or not the show has paid for its international internet that month.)

Low Budget Listener Mailbag

The show reads and answers letters from the Low Budget listening audience.

Low Budget FM Does The Internet A Favor (aka Yahoo! Answers)

When the Internet needs help, Low Budget FM answers the call. Marc and Cioffi read fresh, recently-opened questions from the homepage of Yahoo! Answers and attempt to answer them as best they can.

Fake Girl On Craigslist

Marc or Cioffi write a fake personal ad and put it on Craigslist, then read the responses they got on the air. Usually the girl wants her potential suitors to do something out of the ordinary, like write her a poem or divulge some dark secret.

Cioffi's Lock of the Week

Expert sports prognosticator Mike Cioffi predicts the absolute 100% sure thing in the coming weekend of football.

Ask The Love Robot

Listeners submit their love, sex and relationships questions to be answered by Low Budget FM's proprietary, state-of-the-art love question answering machine.

Fan Fiction Theatre

The show delves into a specific piece of fan fiction, running down the plot, characters and acting out a scene or two.

The Extreme Topic Bonanza

Marc and Cioffi attempt to bang through as many topics as they can. Occasionally the topics are read by a third party, but most recently they've been read by the Topic Master 5000 Robot.

It's Shine Time

Marc, Cioffi or Salwin read a scintillating topic hot off the news desk of Yahoo! Shine.

Animal vs. Animal

The show breaks down, in needlessly specific detail, a fight between two or more animals (regardless of whether or not the animals actually exist in nature.) See: Raptor vs. Grizzly Bear, Sharkigator vs. Manodile, etc.

Bits From A By-Gone Era

These bits mostly stopped when former co-host Tod Perry departed the show for greener pastures.

A Little Perspective

Marc and Tod attempt to put life's problems into perspective by breaking down the issues surrounding the rich and famous. And they do this while sad piano music plays in the background.

Lampidi Stelami Sings The Hits

Italian folk rock superstar Lampi Di Stelami (affectionally known as Lampidi) records and posts his acoustic covers of pop songs on a YouTube channel. Tod cuts these clips and brings them to the show, where Marc Chambers and Mike Cioffi compete to see who can guess the song he's singing.

Nerdwalking

Shamelessly stolen from another radio show. Mike Cioffi hits the floor of various nerd-flavored conventions (like the Anime Expo in Los Angeles or the San Diego Comic Con) and puts nerds to the test with pop culture trivia. Tod and Marc wager to see if each nerd will get the question right or wrong.

Bits That Didn't Make The Cut

Here's some bits you probably won't hear again, but we've attempted at least once.

The Topic Cube

Someone from the show stands inside one of those big inflatable money cubes, but instead of money, it's potential show topics. Whatever they come out with is the topic of that show.

Topic Vibrator Races

Two potential topics are taped to vibrators, and then those vibrators are turned on and raced down ramps. Whichever wins is the topic of that show.

Low Budget Therapy

Tod Perry tries to help people who really need therapy with a bunch of cliched therapist catchphrases. Which makes him not much different than an actual therapist.

Low Budget Buddha

Enlightened advice on living a modest lifestyle.

Hacky Joke-a-Thon

Marc and Tod frantically one-up each other with the hackiest stand-up material they can think of.

Twitter Madlibs

Marc, Tod and Mike Cioffi bet on what they'll find when they search Twitter for a specific word.
